  • We demonstrate your unique selling points.
  • We write your cover letter or personal statement in a personable way to assure your new practice that you will be a good fit for their team.
  • We include your most relevant experience for the post you want.

Your personal GP CV should be as unique as you are

We know GP practices are different. We understand that you will want to apply for a job that feels most comfortable to you. A job that complements your personal life, fits with your experience, interests, where you want to practice, which way of working suits you best, and more.

There are lots of different options, including locum, salaried, partnerships, GPwSI, fellowships, a portfolio career, and lots more. We have written GP CVs and cover letters for all types of GP jobs, covering every region of the UK, urban, rural, and small to very large list sizes.

Your new post GP Training Application CV

Have you, or will you shortly be a newly CCT'd GP? When you are transitioning from a GP training, it is important you demonstrate in your new GP CV what you gained from placements that will stand you in good stead in your new job.

There are lots of things we consider when writing your new CV.

  • What type of post is it: salaried or locum?
  • Why are you applying for it? For instance, variety, flexibility to 'float around' a few practices before committing to one, security, and stability, to maintain an interest in women's health, minor surgeries, etc.
  • Where you want to live: London, the city you have trained in, closer to the family home.
  • How you should demonstrate the value of your training to the type of practices you really want to apply for.
  • We understand how to bring all of these elements together to ensure you get the interviews you most want.

Locum GP CV

We understand that you may be at a stage in your career where you are looking for variety. To experience different types of practices and to build up your skills before focusing on a more permanent GP job. This may mean you want to work in different localities and types of practices, work flexibly, and build up your professional interests. We understand how to write your CV and cover letter in a compelling but concise manner that gets you the jobs you want.

Salaried GP CV

The option of a salaried GP job is perhaps the most attractive to many GPs. It means only having to focus on one practice, a familiar pattern of working, and the stability of being employed with a regular salary, fitting in with family responsibilities, etc. We understand how to write this particular type of general practitioner CV, which involves a different method of working than other GP roles.

GP Partner CV

We understand how to perfectly pitch your interest in becoming a partner and ensure you demonstrate your teamwork and leadership skills, in particular with your fellow partners, with whom you will need to collaborate to make appropriate business decisions for the practice.

We know how to demonstrate your proficiency in the services you will offer, your organisation, and prioritisation skills. We know how to write a cover letter demonstrating how you believe your prospective new practice and team is right for you and that you are the right fit for them.

As a partner, you're self-employed and essentially own and run the practice along with your other partners. Most practices have more than one partner, so it goes without saying that it's important you get along with each other as you'll be making important business decisions.

GPwER CV

We understand how to write a general practitioner resume that eloquently expresses how you can bring a new skill to a practice that might help them better deliver high-quality care to patients in a local setting. We will ensure that the special experience you have gained demonstrates to a practice how your skill set can help them and, at the same time, helps you develop your interests further.

Fellowship GP CV

It can be difficult to find time to get hands-on experience with different procedures during our training. Fellowships can be a great way to get an opportunity to develop a subspecialty of general practice. We understand how to get your enthusiasm across in your CV and cover letter, specifically for these types of valuable and competitive posts.

Portfolio GP CV

It can be an exciting to career to create your own portfolio as a GP. Such a career can have many aspects to it, including roles such as:

  • OOH GP
  • Working in A&E
  • Being a GPwER
  • Conducting specialist clinics
  • Working in a prison

We understand how to accentuate your different skill sets and focus them relevantly on particular jobs and roles you are most interested in.

The GP Principal told me my CV was without doubt the best . . . I have tried other CV services and found them embarrassingly ‘cliche’./p>

You read all the documents I sent you with wisdom, understood what I needed to say and expressed this more clearly and elegantly than I could have done myself. I was offered the post as a consultant respiratory physician and senior lectureship in medicine in the university hospital I wanted. The interviewer said my job application had given me a clear advantage above the other candidates, even before I had walked in the door.-
